Girum holds a Ph.D. and MSc Degrees in Civil Engineering from the University of Maryland, College Park, and a B.Sc. degree in Civil Engineering from Addis Ababa University. He is a graduate of the Local Governance Summer Institute at Stanford University and has certifications in project management, alternative project delivery, and leadership. Dr. Awoke serves as adjunct faculty at Santa Clara University and San Jose State University, and formerly at Montgomery College. He is a member of several professional associations and serves on committees at national, state, and local levels.
In his spare time, Girum enjoys the outdoors and sports. Girum lives in San Jose California with his wife and two children.
Dr. Fitsum has a Ph.D. degree in the Mechanical Engineering field from IIT Delhi and authored several articles in his field of study. These articles have been widely cited by other researchers.
Dr. Fitsum Feyissa has been working professionally in Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering for over 20 years. He is an experienced mechanical engineer with extensive international experience, and a member of the Mechanical Engineers Society (in Ethiopia, India, and USA). He is involved in numerous engineering societies and activities in Ethiopia, India, and USA.
In a highly advanced manufacturing facility, Dr. Fitsum is currently working for Tesla, Inc. Fremont, as a quality process engineer. His responsibilities include quality assurance, process improvement, innovation, and safety procedures.
Dr. Fitsum is currently a board director of Ethiopian Community Service (ECS), which develops programs and procedures for recruiting new members. Also, he is responsible for creating economic development, education platforms, organizing seminars and conferences.
During his free time, Dr. Fitsum enjoys travelling, supporting the community, and practicing martial arts. Currently, he lives in Santa Clara, California, with his wife and children.
